Here is a very popular verse that says whether one is pure or not bodily,
etc, upon devoutly thinking of the Lord, one becomes pure inside and
outside:
https://sa.wikisource.org/s/3gay
This verse is found in may Puranas like the Vamana, Brahmavaivarta, etc.
This is about Vishnu.
Here is a Shiva version of this in the Shiva dharma text:
The Shiva Dharma is an ancient text said to be identified prior to the 10th
Century CE.
A slightly variant of the above is in the Skandapurana:
The book is published by Chowkhamba, Varanasi, in 2014.
