Dear Bhaskar ji,
The individual is not important. Let me elaborate the thought process
behind it though
1. Ajaana is jnaana-abhaava and avidya is beginning-less, cause-less
vyakta-adhayaasa
2. Shankara and Upanishads teach that on gaining jnaanam, avidya is
completely destroyed and jnaani is saakshaat brahman - brahmavid brahmaiva
bhavati
3. So according to 1. vyakta-adhyaasa is destroyed if avidya is destroyed
4. So I should not perceive dvaita if I am a jnaani
5. Keep waiting for dvaita to be destroyed so that it is not available for
perception. Even though it gets destroyed every night when I sleep, it
comes back somehow cause-lessly from 'jnaana-abhaava bija' (which is absurd
as how can abhaava be a bija)
6. This has made advaita into some mystical thing where the dvaita vanishes
in the wake of knowledge although the same people vehemently oppose Yoga
Sadhana and samadhi unnecessarily.
The crucial thing misunderstood in the above is jnaani is brahman but
brahman is not jnaani. This inequality is crucial thing to understood from
the 2.16 bhashya and chandogya 6th chapter bhashya. The kaarana-ananyatvam
of kaarya which is asat has to be understood properly. That is why even
Mahavakyas like tat tvam asi are equations of tat - jagat kaaranam brahma
(not shuddham nirgunam brahma) and tvam - jiva and the identity arrived at
as both being ananya from nirgunam brahma. Nirgunam Brahma is both tat and
tvam from vyavahaara and neither from paramaartha.
From vyavahaara brahman is both jnaani and ajnaani. But only the jnaani
knows this and is free, while the ajnaani suffers from ajnaana and its
kaarya which is samsara.
with love and prayers,
Jaishankar
