[Advaita-l] Veda Recitation Classes in Silicon Valley, California, USA

Veda recitation classes will be offered around the Silicon Valley/San Francisco Bay Area, California, USA.
The classes may be held at an apartment home in Santa Clara, or any other convenient location.
Here are the requirements for being a student of the Veda Class:
1) Must have undergone upanayanam, with sacred thread (i.e. Yajnopavitam or Poonal or Janoi).
2) Must perform Sandhya Vandanam regularly - or at least Gayatri Mantra Japam.
3) Must be able to pronounce "Mahapranas" like KHA, THA, DHA, etc.
4) Must be able to chant the Gayatri Mantra with correct SVARAS.
5) Must bring a "Veshti" or "Dhoti" (White) to the Veda class - can wear it over shorts or pants.

The first class can be held on 4th Feb 2026 (Wednesday), and then we can decide on when to have the future classes.
It is typically recommended that not only should the first class be held on an auspicious day, but also that the
second class not be missed by anyone (i.e. avoiding "Dvitiya-vighnam").

The following Vedic Hymns can be taught:
Purusha Suktam (This is traditionally the first Suktam taught to all beginners. The rest can be learned in any order.)

Vishnu Sahasranamam
