Again no one is disputing this and no one should dispute this, if at all they are the followers of Advaita!!  But as long as teaching coming up like this in view of there is a preacher and a listener (upAdhi bedha) we have to have jeeva-jeeva bedha…where shankara is our paramAchArya and we are, among ourselves have different adhikAra bedha differently approach the SAME tattva.  It is from this view point shAstra differentiates jeeva (shaareeri) and Ishwara (brahman).  After realizing the truth the jeeva realizes that its svarUpa is that vishesha rahita brahman.  But till that time we have to accept the existence of jeeva (jeevatva) lest shAstra, upadesha, sAdhana, mOksha etc. go for big six!! kartA chAyaM jeevaH syAt kasmAt shAstrArthavatvAt anyathA tadanarthakaM syAt, taddhi kartuH sataH kartavya visheshamupadishati….is the bhAshya vAkya.
