Correction here raghav sir. The madhwas do not consider Krishna superior to
vishnu. Infact looking at bhagavans avataras as different leads one to hell
in their sidhantha. I think you meant the gaudiyas who also don’t exactly
accept inferior/superior between Krishna/vishnu. It is just that they
consider Krishna as the moola roopam and vishnu as an avatara of Krishna.
Even then avatara/avatari has no difference.
Now coming to the ptb and vishnu being shankachakra Dhara we do find such
references. For example when the Panchatantra school is being refuted
acharya says we know we must worship narayana through prostration, prayer
etc. So it’s the pancharatra Narayana alone acharya speaks about. Not to
forget the “vishnu in Saligrama”, that too definitely is chathurbhuja
vishnu worship.
Coming to Gita in the upodhghta itself we find statements such as Adi
Kartha Narayana has appeared through devakis womb etc.
