Namaste Sangeeth
Advaita if represented correctly can never be a pUrvapakSha to any
siddhAnta. It may be more fruitful and joy-giving, to do an open-minded
study of Advaita as a siddhAnta before trying to look at it as a
pUrvapakSha.

Wherever any upAsanA etc is propounded, Advaita respects that too as a
valid vyAvahArika standpoint which has its place in the scheme of things.

If someone argues against what an advaitic acArya teaches, that particular
AcArya out of compassion for a particular person, like Sri Shankara did for
Sri Sureshvaracharaya in his pUrvAshrama, present arguments to reveal that
all dualism is incomplete etc.

But if Advaita is distorted and misrepresented, then, yes, it can be
(mis)used as a pUrva-pakSha.

So, Advaita (A) can never be a pUrva-pakSha for any theology.
But yes, a distorted-misrepresented-Advaita (D-M-A) can be used as a
pUrvapakSha like Vedanta Desikar etc did in his shatadUShaNI (which I would
translate as 100 ways of either misunderstanding or misrepresenting
Advaita).

That is why Gaudapadacharya says -

स्वसिद्धान्तव्यवस्थासु द्वैतिनो निश्चिता दृढम् ।
परस्परं विरुध्यन्ते तैरयं न विरुध्यते ॥३. १७ ॥

svasiddhāntavyavasthāsu dvaitino niścitā dṛḍham |
parasparaṃ virudhyante tairayaṃ na virudhyate ||3. 17 ||

The dualists obstinately cling to the conclusions arrived at by their own
enquiries (as being the truth). So they contradict one another; whereas the
*Advaitin finds no conflict with them*.
