What is the role or need for postulating Ishvara (and also jivEshayor
> bhedaH)? (since kAraNa-kArya-sambandha is dispensed with and no

If we recollect, in DSV, jIva is avidyA-pratibimbita-chaitanya (pratibimba)
whereas Ishwara is avidyA-upahita-chaitanya (bimba).

So, despite Ishwara not being jagat-kAraNa, as jIva itself is the kAraNa of
jagat (सृष्टि being जीवकर्तृक), the difference between jIva and Ishwara is
well understandable, i.e. the difference between bimba and pratibimba.
