Uma Tattva as beheld by Bhagavatpada and other Advaitacharyas

==================

As a seva to the feet of Bhagavati and Bhagavtpada, here is a talk which
aims at exploring various statements from the commentarial literature of
Advaita Vedanta and thereby outline the Tattvika Swaroopa of Bhagavati Uma
as understood by Advaitavidyacharyas.

Below is a brief summary of the topics discussed

1. ‘Bhagavan Uma-pati Shiva is the Brahman and Bhagavati Uma is the
Brahma-vidya’ - from the Bhashya of Bhagavatpada and Atma-purana of Shri
Shankaranada Saraswati

2. ‘Bhagavan Shiv himself appears as Uma’ says Shri Vidyaranya Mahaswamiji
in his Anubhuti Prakasha

3. Tattvik identity of Ishvara(Brahman) and Uma(Brahma-vidya) from
Anandagiri Acharya’s tika

4. Ishvaratva of Uma in Siddhanta Bindu of Swami Madhusudhan Saraswati and
its commentaries by Swami Narayna Tirtha and Swami Brahmanada Saraswati.

5. Reconciliation of Uma’s Ishvaratva with the Puranic statements
describing her as Shakti in the light of Vartika-prasthana

6. A beautiful dhyana shloka from Brahmanada Tirtha’s Advaita Martanda
summarizing the Tattvika swaroopa of Uma

Hope the talk will be helpful to the aspirants of Advaita in understanding
the Tattvika nature of Bhagavati Uma.
