There is no mention about Arjuna being << the witness of 'dead' body of Krishna and did the untyeshti as well >> as mentioned by you above in your post. Please give any references you may have in regard to this claim.

Hare Krishna
Long time back I read this in one Kannada book ' krishNAvataarada kadeya dinagaLu' by prof. Sri Narayanaachaarya, heard about leaving the physical body in bhagavata class as well. Exact source I don’t recall now.
Anyway, in geeta itself the lord says : the mAyA under whose control all the jeeva act is under my control. With this power of mAya I 'appear' to take birth (saMbhavAmyAtmamAyayA), where as you arjuna, born as a result of your Karma. (4-5&6). By this Krishna saying he appears to have taken birth and appears to have body etc. But Arjuna talking about the janma of Krishna (ofcourse based on his knowing that lord is Vasudeva suta) and asking the question aparaM bhavatO janma etc. Though it is appearing or otherwise it is indeed talking about 'janma' that means 'mrutyu' invariably follows it as lord himself confirms 'jAtasyahi dhruvO mrutyuH, dhruvaM janma mrutasyacha'. So, that which has taken the birth in the womb of Devaki (8th child) met the death at the hands of hunter. And there is a period sans Krishna during that time entire yAdava clan destroyed due to their internal quarrel (yAdavi kalaha). All these events / episodes shows there was a time before Krishna janma, during his lifetime and 'after' his death as well. You must have read that book, he has given some references from 'vachana bhAgavata' I reckon. But not sure.
Hari Hari Hari Bol!!!
