[Advaita-l] Geeta verses and its practical applicability

Thanks for the very apt reference from shankara bhAshya.  These virtues have been explained as ‘dharmyamrutam’ ( the nector of dharma) and if you see the 20th verse, lord says ye bhaktaH sanyasi-s who are indulged themselves in para bhakti should practice this.  But I reckon, for the householder too who supposed to  practice karma phala tyAga sannyasa (before taking the sarva karma sannyasa) these virtues would help them immensely in their sAdhana.  If we think these virtues meant for ONLY sarva karma saNyAsis (monks/renunciates) then permission granted to the conditioned mind of householders for getting worked up even for trifle issues.  duHkeshu anudvigna manaH sukheshu vigata spruhaH veeta rAga bhaya krodha sthitadheermuniruchyate.  Again, if we pass/attribute these qualities only for muni-s, there is no room for us to do sAdhana towards AtmOnnati.  Just my thoughts.
