While this song is penned by famous South Indian Poet-composer, Muthuswamy
Dikshitar he praises Vatapi Ganapati as the elephant headed who grants
boons as the universe and elements are said to be created by Ganesha. The
hymn is traditionally sung at the beginning of many Carnatic music concerts.
