See the chandogyopanishad and the bhashya for the 'vāmadevyasāman' upāsanam:

छान्दोग्योपनिषद्भाष्यम्द्वितीयोऽध्यायःत्रयोदशः खण्डःमन्त्र २

स य एवमेतद्वामदेव्यं मिथुने प्रोतं वेद मिथुनी भवति मिथुनान्मिथुनात्प्रजायते
सर्वमायुरेति ज्योग्जीवति महान्प्रजया पशुभिर्भवति महान्कीर्त्या न काञ्चन
परिहरेत्तद्व्रतम् ॥ २ ॥

Bhashyam:   मिथुनीभवति अविधुरो भवतीत्यर्थः । मिथुनान्मिथुनात्प्रजायते इति
अमोघरेतस्त्वमुच्यते । न काञ्चन, काञ्चिदपि स्त्रियं स्वात्मतल्पप्राप्तां न
परिहरेत् समागमार्थिनीम् , वामदेव्यसामोपासनाङ्गत्वेन विधानात् ।
एतस्मादन्यत्र प्रतिषेधस्मृतयः । वचनप्रामाण्याच्च धर्मावगतेर्न
प्रतिषेधशास्त्रेणास्य विरोधः ॥
