[Advaita-l] Caste system

Dear friends,

Whoever has read the Uttarakhanda of the Ramayana  (Ramayana Vedasamam) knows that in the Tretayuga the people felt very strongly the need for allocation of right job to people with the right aptitude and ability. That is how the Varna pratha came into being. I read it years ago and never felt the need of revising that. That is what has also been ratified by Lord Krishna in the Bhagavad Gita. This is the essence of the Varna pratha for all time. Any other treatment on the Varna pratha is simply the matter of details.
