Namaste Sri VS mama,
The pictures are not displaying in the post as well/email.
Also kalidasa has praised the same eight forms as "Yaa srishti srasturaadya vahati vidhihutam yaa haviryaacha hotree,Ye dve kaalam vidhatta, sruti vishaya gunaa, Yaa sthithaa vyaapya viswavamYaamaahuh sarva bhuta prakriti riti Yayaa praaninah praanavantah,Pratyakshaabhih prapannastanubhiravatu Vastaabhi rashtaabhireesah." in shakuntalam and as quoted by mallinatha " pritvi salilam tejo vaayuraakashameva cha . suuryachandramasou somayaajii chetyashta muurtayah".
regards,
Ganesh K.

The
universe is Śiva's Eight-fold form - Harivamśa
In the Sridakshinamurti stotram of
Shankaracharya the ninth verse is:
भूरम्भांस्यनलोऽनिलोंऽबरमहर्ना
थो हिमांशुः
पुमान्इत्याभाति
चराचरात्मकमिदं
यस्यैव
मूर्त्यष्टकम्।नान्यत्किञ्चन
विद्यते विमृशतां
यस्मात्परस्माद्विभोःतस्मै
श्रीगुरुमूर्तय नम इदं
श्रीदक्षिणामूर्तये॥९॥He, whose eight-fold forms are, the
‘earth, water, fire, air, ether, sun, moon and jIva’, and who manifests Himself as
this universe of the moveable and the immovable objects,
the Supreme all-pervading Lord, there exists nothing to
reflect upon … to Him, the divine teacher,
shrIdakShiNAmUrti is this prostration.
For a detailed explanation of the
above see:http://advaita-academy.org/
shri-dakshinamurti-stotram- part-6/
It is no surprise that the above
concept that the universal form, viśvarūpa, is that of
Lord Śiva, just as it is also stated to be of Lord Viśṇu
(Bh.gita 11th ch.), by Veda Vyāsa Himself. That Veda
Vyasa holds Hari and Hara to be no different from each other
is yet again, for the umpteenth time, evidenced by the
following verse in the
Harivamśa 3.85.21 :
The
first word of the above translation aught to be:
पृथ्वीसहित.
It is also significant that
Shankaracharya has cited verses from this very section of
the Harivamśa in the Vishnusahasra nama bhashya to
emphasize Hari-Hara / Trimūrti abheda.
The above verse is preceded
by:
This chapter is a prelude to Śiva
visiting Kriṣṇa who is in penance at Kailāsa to please
Śiva and obtain boon. The last verse in that chapter
is:
It is also significant that Shankara
in the VSN bhāṣya for the name 'Rudra' (114) has
cited another verse from the pen of Veda Vyasa, the Shiva
purana, to say: Shiva is the parama kāraṇam. This is
reflected in the above cited verse as
'ādikartā'.
Since Veda Vyasa holds that Hari and
Hara are but one principle in two forms (as reiterated in
the Harivamśa too apart from the Mahabharata), it is no
contradiction to hold that the viśvarūpa is depicted by
Veda Vyasa himself as that of Hari and Hara in the Bh.Gita
and the Harivamśa
respectively. regardssubrahmanian.v
