I do agree vedAnta is for self-aggrandizement.  But for the vedic karmAnushtAna there are some stipulated rules and regulation which are prescribed for the fructification of these vedOkta karma-s.   We cannot be complacent when performing these vedic rituals in the name of vedAnta and its goal.
