In the introduction to the Aitareya Upanishad bhAShyam Shankara cites the
KaivalyopaniShad mantra 'na karamaNA na prajayA dhanEna tyAgEnaike
amRtatvam AnashuH' by mentioning 'iti cha kaivalya-shrutiH'. It is not
known whether there is any other reference to this upanishad in the
prasthAnatraya bhAShyam.
Incidentally, it is in this UpaniShad we have the mantra:
umasahayam paramesvaram prabhum trilocanam nilakantham prasantam |
dhyatva munirgacchati bhutayonim samastasaksim tamasah parastat || 7||
Here Lord Shiva is held to be the parabrahman.
sa brahma sa sivah sendrah so'ksarah paramah svarat |
sa eva visnuh sa pranah sa kalo'gnih sa candramah || 8||
It also specifies that the gods vishnu, brahmA, indra etc. are all
manifestations of the Supreme Shiva - parabrahman.
