As a related thing, Kanchi paramaacharya, Chandrasekharendra Saraswati,
mentions in his works "Hindu Dharma" that sanyaasaashram can be stepped into
from any of the four ashrams and not necessarily after vaanaprastha. I'm not
sure if this is limited to advaita following only.
