nitya = constant
abhyaasaat.h = practice
R^ite = sincere, proper
praaptiH = attainment
na = not
bhavet = will be
sat.h + chit.h + aatmanaH = of the Self which is true existence and
knowledge
tasmaat.h = therefore
brahma = Brahman, the ultimate Truth
nididhyaaste.h = ought to meditate
jiGYaasuH = seeker, aspirant
shreyase = for the highest welfare
chiram.h = for long
Self-knowledge cannot be attained without constant and sincere practice.
Therfore, the seeker, for the sake of the highest goal in life, must
meditate on Brahman for a long time.
