[Advaita-l] Narayana's Maya and Atman's Maya as per Shankara

In the Gitabhashya introduction Shankara says:

त्रिगुणात्मिकां स्वां मायां मूलप्रकृतिं वशीकृत्य, अजोऽव्ययो भूतानामीश्वरो
नित्यशुद्धबुद्धमुक्तस्वभावोऽपि सन् , स्वमायया देहवानिव जात इव च लोकानुग्रहं
कुर्वन् लक्ष्यते ।

Narayana, keeping his Maya under his control, appears as though born, etc.
while taking the Krishna Avatara.

In the Gaudapada Karika Bhashya, Shankara says, following Gaudapada:

कल्पयत्यात्मनात्मानमात्मा देवः स्वमायया ।
स एव बुध्यते भेदानिति वेदान्तनिश्चयः ॥ १२ ॥
स्वयं स्वमायया स्वमात्मानमात्मा देवः आत्मन्येव वक्ष्यमाणं भेदाकारं कल्पयति
रज्ज्वादाविव सर्पादीन् , स्वयमेव च तान्बुध्यते भेदान् , तद्वदेवेत्येवं
वेदान्तनिश्चयः ।
Atma, out of its own Maya, concocts all differences in itself, like snake
etc in the locus rope etc. and also perceives those differences.
It is quite evident that in the second instance, it is the jiva's avidya
which has deluded the jiva.
Thus Shankara and Gaudapada hold the same Maya, as the power of Narayana,
and as the power that deludes the Atma.
This is a fine instance of Shankara holding the same Maya as non-different
from Avidya.
BGB 5.13: यद्यपि कार्यकरणकर्माणि अविद्यया आत्मनि अध्यारोपितानि
आत्मनि अविद्यया अध्यारोपितानां   (same bhashya)
BGB 13.2:
तर्हि आत्मनि क्रियाकारकफलात्मतायाः स्वतः अभावे, अविद्यया च अध्यारोपितत्वे,

From this sample, it is evident that for Shankara - maayayaa aropa is not
different from avidyayaa aropa.
